Outlawing Circumcision

Every couple months there is a post about how shitty circumcision is, and the good people here voice my opinions and distress to a T: how can a barbaric practice of genital mutilation and child abuse be so accepted by "modern" society? What is wrong with people? Fuck religion. Etc.

I'm wondering if anyone knows about how we can actually do something about this. Get the barbaric practice banned. What are the chances? What would go into this?

Honestly I hate politics but this is one issue I feel strongly about.

Edit: And to clarify since the way I put it caused some confusion: of course I'm not talking about preventing adults from getting circumcised. I'm talking about the pointless, socially-sanctioned genital mutilation of BABIES.
