Tf2 keeps freezing the whole os and is lowering my hertz to 25 on the whole os

Whenever I load into a server when it hits "retrieving server info" everything will just freeze and il have to force shutdown with the power button I was able to get it working with proton but it only worked on servers with no vac how do I fix this?
