What do you do with townies?

Just wondering how everyone plays with townies, if at all? Do you move them in and make them playable? Do you just let them be and interact with them but not move them in? Or do you use mods to avoid townies from generating at all?

Personally, I move in townies only when they become relevant to my playables’ stories (mainly if they date or have kids with playables - I surely don’t want a townie’s great-grandchild running around the hood while the townie is still an adult!). However, I prioritize my playables dating other playables and they only date townies when I cannot find them a suitable match among playables. I also always make the Tricou teens playable (and Kaylynn Langerak, though she’s a NPC rather than a townie). Other than that, I don’t play townies and I have no townie regen mods, but I enjoy interacting with the iconic premade townies anyways.
