Oh look, another post about Chris Murphy heroically "clapping back" at Trump (how fresh, how vital, how utterly irreplaceable to Connecticut discourse). Meanwhile, any post that dares to critique Murphy? Magically vanished. I shared a straightforward article recently and poof, it was gone. When I...

I'm gifting you all this long form interview with Senator Murphy on the NYT conservative columnist's podcast "Interesting Times". It's an interesting listen and would be curious to hear what others think. I gotta say tho, I don't feel like Murphy comes off well here. Milquetoast Murphy.

Tom Hanks should've reclaimed Helen Hunt at the end of Cast Away. It's not his fault that his plane crashed, nor should that invalidate his relationship with her. The dentist was clearly option #2 and she wanted Hanks. I hate the ending of this stupid movie.

My cat is afraid of the $30 drinking fountain I bought him. He won't go near it. It's been sitting there for days and it's just running and running and running. When I take him near it, he gets mad and jumps out of my arms and runs away. This is a serious problem because he doesn't like still water

The downtown green in Waterbury is the most beautiful of any green in all of Connecticut. Also, despite the negative talk about Waterbury, i felt way safer on there than i do at the New Haven green, which seems like a repository for fanatics and the indigent.

The Stop n Shop on Whalley was all dark inside because of a power outage. This was around 5pm. I went in to buy some garlic bread for $4 and it was all dark and they put the little shades over all the fruit. There were still people milling about but people seemed uneasy and it felt vaguely apocalypt

Havoc starring Tom Hardy looks really stupid. My friend thinks I would like it because I liked The Raid a lot, but this movie looks dumb and I don't know if i should watch it. Did you see it? I don't like Forest Whitacker and when he says "I know what you did", I rolled my eyes. Also, Hardy's accent

As much as I enjoy mocking Bill, I have to say he was way ahead of the curve naming Spotlight as a Rewatchable. This film is truly great, and important, and I suspect people will return to it for many years to come.
